"I love you THIS much." "That's not very much..." "I have little arms."

It takes 8 minutes and 17 seconds for light to travel from the Sun’s surface to the Earth,
but only three seconds to say, “I love you.”

I could tell 165 people I loved them if someone notified me
that the sun suddenly quit shining before we all died.

…But dialing the phone numbers would take me about 15 seconds.
So that cuts it down to 26 if they all answer on the first ring.

Of course no one ever answers on the first ring.
So let’s say the phone rings three times before it gets picked up.
That takes another 12 seconds.
That is 16 people.

There is, of course, the danger of voicemail.
The actual waiting for, let’s say, 6 total rings takes an additional 12 seconds
and then I would have to listen to their cheesy voicemail message and wait for the beep…
Which is another 15 seconds.
So that is…8 people.
I could leave 8 people messages saying, “I love you."

Unless there was one person I really, really loved.
Then I would probably need all 8 minutes and 17 seconds to say it
before doom reigns supreme.

Anyway.
What I am trying to say is...
Tell people you love them often because you never know
when the sun is going to explode.
